Fredericksburg

The weekend was lovely... I love Fredericksburg and Jim and I have decided to open a basement bistro and all our friends and anyone can come and party there!

First we drove to Brownwood TX and spent the night at a hotel there because it was a good rest point for the night... then we woke up really early and got to Longhorn Caverns by 830sm for the 9am spelunking tour... It was just me, Jim, a group of two dads and three sons and our intrepid leader Brad... it was really fun to crawl through mud and tight spaces in the unmaintained parts of the cave... Jim and I want to repell next and do some more serious caving!

then we drove to enchanted rock and I was a crank on the way up because I didn't feel well, but we had a blast anyways barrelling down the "mountain" offtrail.

then we continued on to fredericksburg and checked into our cozy hotel and realized we left our nice clothes at the last hotel, so we called and said we would pick them up on the way home and just go casual for dinner... we mozied around the town a bit and went to the brewery where jim had the sampler that included a beer called "not so dumb blonde" and once the beer started to buzz we found an amazing restaurant in the basement of one of the buildings and had a lovely dinner all to ourselves in a back room! Then of course I had to go find the place that claimed to have the best coffee in america and damn was it good, so was the key lime pie we had... plus the guy who owned the place was so sweet and we felt like we were eating in someone's kitchen!

then sadly we had to wake up on sunday and drive all the way home, we had an interesting drive filled with some cranking, but lots of just insane sillyness at the end... jim took us on a lovely detour through post texas where we went a little too fast and had a great laugh.
